The Latino Youth Leadership Academy was launched in 2010 as a community initiative for girls by Julieta Piox, a Life & Leadership Coach, public speaker, trainer, Pastor and former marketing and communications professional. Julieta has worked to empower women and young girls for the last 15 years to help them realize their full potential by providing coaching, mentoring and the necessary tools and resources.
Supporters, volunteers and youth advocates, saw the need for role models and mentors in the Latino community as a prevalent and integral part of the development and advancement of youth and LYLA was formed.
In 2021, LYLA answered the call to the need our Latino boys have in our community and opened up its program to serving boys. LYLA-Boys serves young men ages 13-17 and follows the same leadership model and curriculum as the girls program.
LYLA works in partnership with schools, community organizations and businesses to provide leadership development opportunities to young Latino youth. LYLA prides itself in providing an informal mentorship program, and a public forum to apply hands on experience.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and continue adding more services to our youth.
